About
Hello, my name is Hannah and I am a HCPC registered and Chartered Clinical Psychologist working across County Durham.
I have over 15 years’ experience working with adults in the mental health field. I have worked in a range of primary and secondary NHS services and private sector services. I work with adults, individuals, couples and groups and I offer short and long term therapy. My therapeutic interests include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing).
My clinical practice is underpinned by an integrative approach whereby I draw on a range of evidence based psychological approaches to specifically tailor to your needs. Every person is completely different and their maybe multiple strategies to achieve the same goal. It is not “one size fits all”. This approach enables the development of a therapy plan that focuses on making positive changes and improving your quality of life.
I believe the most important aspect of successful psychotherapy is the therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist. I aim to offer a compassionate, open and trusting relationship to enable you to work on through your difficulties and make progress in achieving lasting changes in your life.
You are the expert in you. Therefore I believe you have the information needed to manage and move forward through your difficulties. I will support and guide you to find that information within yourself and use that to guide the therapeutic approaches required.
Finding the right person to work with is really important. I offer a free, no obligation, initial 30 minute telephone consultation in which we can discuss your needs and think together about whether I might be a good fit to work together. Get in contact here.
